Loving and being loved
When I was a child, my parents were busy with work, so I had to take the responsibility of taking care of my younger brother. Although I have gained praise and appreciation from others as a caring sister ,in fact, I crave the company of my parents more than any child. Because of my special childhood experience, I can realize the value of having a family . Whenever I think of the elderly who live alone and spend long hours in loneliness, I can feel their helplessness and loneliness, hence,I begin to think about what I can do to help them.
I firmly believe that as a citizen in a society, I should not be indifferent! During the pandemic, I participated in a project which was organized by a group of students to serve the elderly.During the project,we organized a handicraft activity for the elderly – ceramic art. We wanted to encourage them to try new things and enhance the flexibility of their hand joints through appropriate activities so as to achieve the effect of art therapy. The most impressive thing was to communicate with them in the dialect, this immediately helped break the distance between us , and made them feel that there was a group of people in the society to care about them. During the casual conversations with them, I had realized the different value and thinking between two generations, and I thought this was also an opportunity to create a harmonious society.
Persistence is victory.
By chance, I joined a sport—Kin-Ball, and tasted the fun of the sport with my teammates .In the beginning, I chose to avoid training because of the fear of injury.Therefore ,I almost lost in every game. However ,this was a team sport!Seeing my team members were downcast ,I understood that my selfishness could deprive others’ right to persevere! After I reflected why I chose this sport and joined the team , I know I love it . As for this, I must not give it up, even if I am scared. From then on, I started training more actively.
